Clinical Documentation Specialist

Description
The CDS is responsible for reviewing medical records to facilitate the accurate representation of the severity of illness. This involves extensive record review, interaction with physicians, HIM professionals, and nursing staff. Active participation in team meetings and education of staff in the CDI process is a key role.
Requirements
  • CDIP (clinical documentation improvement professional), CCS (certified coding specialist)
  • 5+ years Inpatient coding
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve creatively
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • CDIP required
  • Demonstrates effective teaching techniques, applying adult learning principles.
  • knowledge of and practicual use of good business English, spelling, arithemtic, practices the ability to communicate effectively using written and verbal skills.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
